Huntington Beach Civil War ReEnactment

Experience Civil War Days with costumed actors and vivid displays of life in the 1800's. Central Park is transformed into a battle ground between the Artillery and Infantry with combat, canon fire and encampments. Authentic music and vendor booths include books, period costumes and other items of interest. One important aspect of the civil war that is not known by a majority of people and often overlooked is the music. The Civil War may seem like ancient history to many people. But for others, hearing a little of the period music can evoke the era with astonishing clarity: its pain and struggle, its social, political and human convulsions, the bitter, problematic triumphs. Having a good band sometimes was the difference in battle as the music was capable of motivating and making brave even the most cowardly soldier.
